We spent as much time as possible at Lake Winnipesaukee, where it all began the year before.
Our first year of dating, we spent a lot of time driving from Vermont to Boston to see each other on weekends. This picture is from one of many Vermont weekends spent on North Beach with friends.
2009 brought new apartments, one very long week in the hospital for Justin, and a plan to travel together when we both finished school.
Shortly after Justin's graduation, Justin's parents took us on a sailing trip with the Ahern family. Justin further developed his sailing skills, Meaghan further increased her fear of jellyfish, and we both had an incredible time.
In 2010, we bought one way tickets to Surfer's Paradise, Australia. We had no apartment, no jobs, no phones, no bank account, and no idea what we were doing.
Australia was our first experience living together. We ate a lot of pasta, Meaghan shrank all of Justin's cashmere sweaters, and we learned to appreciate Australian television.
After three years of not being able to go to a bar together, we were both pretty happy when Meaghan turned 21. We celebrated by drinking "fish bowls" at the bar that Meaghan worked at in Australia.
Before we left Australia, we explored Sydney and Melbourne. This is a picture of our roadtrip to the Twelve Apostles.
Our first stop on our backpacking trip was Phuket, Thailand. We ate Pad Thai every day and had a blast getting to know the locals in "The Land of Smiles."
We're still not really sure why we posed like Charlie's Angels while at James Bond Island in Thailand.
After Thailand, we traveled to Dubai, where we stayed with friends. We went off-roading in the sand dunes, camped in the middle of the desert, and enjoyed touring the Old City.
From Dubai we did a quick tour of Egypt, where we climbed inside the pyramids, kissed the Sphinx, and rode a very photogenic camel.
Our next stop was Italy where we toured Florence and Rome. It was December at this point and we were both unprepared for the cold and overexcited for Christmas.
Italy gets two pictures, because Italy is beautiful, and also because we didn't take any pictures in Amsterdam, which was our next and final stop. Woops.
After Australia and our "round the world" adventure, we both moved back in with our parents in Dunstable and Woburn, We saw each other on most weekends and we were always this excited to see each other.
In August 2012, we moved in together to a two-family home in Somerville, MA. This is Justin signing our lease with our realtor, Maria.
In 2013, we returned to the BVIs along with eight of our friends during "The Yacht Week." From what we remember, this trip was epic.
It was our last trip of the summer to the Williams' cottage on Chase Island, Lake Winnipesaukee. Just before heading home, Justin asked Meaghan if she would like to go for one last sail. With our favorite Pandora station playing on a portable radio, we enjoyed the most beautiful sail around Winnipesaukee. The leaves were just starting to change color, the air was cool, and the lake was quiet. As Meaghan took control of sails, Justin began the big speech. It wasn't until he was on one knee that Meaghan realized what was happening. Upon realizing, she, of course, was happy to say yes.
This picture was taken during our sail back to the cottage. Meaghan was so excited that she held up the wrong hand for the camera.
This is the first picture we ever took together. Justin had surprised Meaghan at UVM by driving up for her birthday and hiding in the FIJI frat house. Shout out to Dan Moore for having a "serious problem" that required Meaghan to come to FIJI for her surprise and to Jeff Whitmore, for striking this epic pose in our photograph.
